Benefits of a bilingual program

Les BouTchou provides a quality French-immersion childcare experience in a comfortable, familiar home setting.
Les BouTchou's program is based on the child development model which incorporates the theories of Piaget, Erikson and others. Learning through play is viewed as the cornerstone of the curriculum. Adults provide protection, affection, security, stimulation, support and limits. Children are respected as individuals within a child-oriented, rather than teacher-directed, program.
At Les BouTchou, children are given the opportunity to explore materials and participate in a variety of experiences. Activities are carefully planned and implemented. Children are free to choose from age-appropriate activities including arts and crafts, music, language development, science, nature, dramatic play and sensory activities. Children develop self-esteem, independence and problem-solving skills as they make choices.

Our primary goal is for children to feel safe, loved, protected, accepted and wanted, and to instill in each child a strong sense of self-worth and purpose. Prior to being independent, a child must know that he or she can depend on adults within a predictable environment. We recognize that children develop at different rates and have different interests. The amount of adult guidance varies with each activity, as it is our belief that a good program offers both directed and non-directed experiences, while meeting the individual needs of each child.
